I have been working for almost a year at CERN and I still didn’t went to the CERN Microcosm… until this Saturday.
It is a very interesting exposition about physics and CERN.
As I was visiting a person approached and invited me to a demonstration.
This came to me as a surprise since several friends already visited Microcosm and never talked anything about this.
And so I went and after seeing a big container of liquid nitrogen I realized this wasn’t going to be just for kids.
The demonstration covered: the three states of matter, composition of air, superconductivity and its applications at CERN, applications of liquid nitrogen on the industry (an ice-cream was made in less than 2 minutes and served to everyone in the audience).
The exposition is interesting but the demonstration was absolutely fantastic!
